03:35 pm: an update of monstrocities

I apologize for never updating.  I just have to get in that updating mood which doesn't happen too often.  This semester has been going well so far though.  Recruitment was over ages ago and we got 5 fabulous sisters so that was exciting!

This past weekend was great because of it being a 3 day weekend mostly, but I had fun.  Ryan and his roommate took me and his roommate's girlfriend out for a double date.  It was so cute because they had planned it in advance and everything!  I can't remember the last time we went on a planned date.  Not to be complaining, but it's usually just us doing whatever the hell we want and not planning at all before hand.  So anyway, we all went shopping because I still hadn't been to The Secret's Semi-Annual sale, where I was completely disappointed, and I also needed to look for semi-formal dresses.  Then we saw "In Good Company" and it was really good!  Dennis Quaid and Topher Grace are awesome actors and I love Scarlett Johansen so that combination made for a good time.  We ate at Steak n' Shake afterward and then just sat around their room for the rest of the night, probably watching The Family Guy or something, their latest obession.  Sunday, I was supposed to go to Chicago to go ice skating in Millenium Park w/ some of my sisters, but it was snowing and freezing so it was a no go.  Instead, I watched the Colts lose and did homework so at least someone that day got something accomplished and that would not be Peyton Manning.  I was disappointed because I enjoy jumping on the Colts bandwagon when they're doing well and I didn't get to stay on long this time.

That's about all of the interesting things of the weekend.  Semi-formal is this weekend, but I will be late because Ryan has a LCA rush event.  That's okay though because then we don't have to pay for dinner.  Haha, I am so cheap.  Me and Ryan's SIX YEAR ANNIVERSARY is this Sunday so that's exciting too!  Over half a decade and still going strong!  I haven't got to see him much lately which seems like it will be the trend of this semester because our schedules just do not coincide at all.  He has labs while I'm out of class, I work on the days he has no class, boo hoo.  I am lucky to have him here at all though so I can't complain too much.

It has been freezing cold and awful here lately.  Last night I looked out my window and thought I was inside of a snowglobe.  I did have a very funny highlight to my night though: I heard all of these guys outside yelling and I could tell they were running around.  They had been there awhile so I got up and looked outside.  There were 3 guys out there all running around in the wind and snow in man thongs!  There were all of these other guys out there cheering them on too.  One of them yelled "Ok, let's go!" and they jumped into a van and drove off.  One of the most random things!

I should be getting ready for my Intro to Community Based Nursing class.  The most boring class ever.  2 1/2 hours of Strahm telling stories and reading off of a powerpoint.  My idea of a good time, let me tell you.  Have a good one!

01:19 am: happy halloween

I get tired of not having a roommate.  Do I pay for a single?  No.  Did my roommate transfer and I will be getting a new roommate at semester?  No again.  Does my roommate live at Sig Tau?  Yes.  And I guess it's not really that I'm tired of it...it's just lonely.  I know that I have people living all around me, people who I can walk down the hall to go see and to talk to, but at the end of the night when everyone is settled in for the evening, I crawl into bed in an empty room.  It seems like a dumb thing to be complaining about, but it makes me not want to be here.  I spend so much time over in Berg because there are people there.  When I want to be alone...I just come to my room.  Some people would love to have the living situation I have, and I kind of liked it at first.  It was nice just banging around, typing as loud as I want on the keyboard, having every single light on at night.  And no one gives a shit.  I'm not complaining...I'm just saying...

Ryan and I ate at El Salto tonight and it was some damn good Mexican food.  I want to go there next year when I'm 21 because I think they'd be a place who made a mean margarita.

In other news, I decided to go for it and apply for a council position.  I'm going for VP-Public Relations, that is if Amy K isn't going to be it anymore.  I think it would be good for me and I'd be good for it so, hey, vote for me. heh

And it's Halloween!!  And I got to turn my clock back at midnight so it's really not 2:19am, it's 1:19 am, and either way I should be in bed.

11:30 pm: fall break and such

I am long overdue for an update and I just ended a great Fall Break so what better time to do it than now.  Luckily, I have no homework so I don't feel so guilty about this.

First of all, thank you so much Rabbi and Todd for coming up to visit 2 weekends ago.  It means so much when people come to visit you!  Especially when you go to college that's not exactly on the way anywhere unless you're hitting up Chi-town.  I had a blast with you guys which was just a precursor to what was to come which I'll get to later...

Fall Break was good overall.  Now that I look back it went too fast, but I think I did everything I had set out to do so I am satisfied.  Thursday Ryan and I hit up the ole' apple orchard for some rockin apple cider slushies because they are my favorite.  Got some fabric to try to make him letters...for the third time.  I am determined!!  I will do it if it's the last thing I do.  Friday I spent the day shopping and lunching with Mom in Castleton.  Friday night, Ryan, Todd, and I headed over to Rose to visit Rabbi and some gooood times were had there.  P.S. Green apple and vanilla coke are my favorites now ;)  Rabbi, I loved Rose's campus and your dorm room which should really be called a small apartment was kickin.  Thanks so much for having us, I'd like to come back again!  So then we headed back to Indy Saturday afternoon-ish and then I just sat at home watching the World Series and doing homework Saturday night with my parents.  It was really relaxing and it was just nice doing homework at a leisurely pace instead of sitting here and cramming it all into my head in like 2 hours.  Church this morning and headed back here at 5:30-ish, stopped at Meijer in West Lafayette which turned out to be very beneficial because they were having an awesome sale on Jones Soda so we stocked up.  Got up here around 8:45, moved my stuff in, and I just now got back from Ryan's.

Not looking forward to gym lecture at 9:00 in the am tomorrow, but such is life.  I guess school has to start again at some point.  Only 4 more weeks til Thanksgiving Break!  It's sad, the countdown has already started.  Halloween is in a week though and I'd like to do something for that.  Ryan's roomie is already thinking we'll be having assorted beverages, but I'm not too sure about that.  We'll see what happens.  I think I have 2 KD mtgs that night plus school the next day...hmm...I'm not an addict yet ;)

Gotta go unpack now...my least favorite part of break :P

02:46 pm: new site
I have a xanga site now if anyone wants to check it out.  http://www.xanga.com/oceanmeetssand  I don't post in it a lot, but I basically got it so I could post in my friends sites who have a xanga.  I still like livejournal better though.  Maybe it's because I don't have the whole xanga thing down yet, but livejournal is just more user friendly.  Also, I like how I can pick what book/movie/song I'm listening to right then, look it up, and then a picture shows up of what it looks like.  Very cool.  Well, I'm off to Psych 330 now.

12:56 pm: well it's monday alright

"There is something missing in American Politics.  Some call it passion, I call it tabasco."  This quote reminded me of Kelly Meadows :)  Her and her love of spicy food. hehe

I have 3 exams this week.  1 down, 2 to go.  It's odd to me how Nursing exams don't seem to hard until you get them back and you're like "Well shit, I fucked up that one good."  Oh well, at least I'm learning something and it's interesting to me.  Let's hope that I did better in Nur 201 today than Nur 203 last week.  Since when is an 80% a low C+??  wtf??

It seems like I have something to look forward to every weekend until Fall Break.  At least that'll make it go faster.  Tri Delt Softball game and fondu with Ryan this weekend, next week is Homecoming which means Homecoming weekend festivities, the week before Fall Break is KD Hayride on Friday and Sisterhood Retreat on Saturday.  And then it'll be Fall Break!  All this waiting just for 4 stinkin days which I will probably have a crap load of homework to do during.  But it's what keeps me going.
